The Start of Wedding Season

Wedding Season has officially started for my Mom & Dad!   This weekend, they left me to play with my friends Aly & Shep at Tara & Adam's house while they flew to north Jersey to go to Jackie & Steve's wedding.

I'm pretty jealous I didn't get to go.  Mom and Dad said the reception was very elegant and everything was amazing.  Gloved waiters greeted guests at the door with trays of cocktails.  (of course I would be more excited if it was some sort of meat treat, but apparently there was plenty of that inside at the cocktail hour).   There was also lots of dancing with a GREAT band - the night started with dancing, then a break for the first course, then more dancing, then a break for the salad, then more dancing, then a break for dinner, then even MORE dancing and delicious cake and an entire room filled with desserts.  But the best part?  The PHOTO BOOTH:

(these are Mom & Dad's wedding buddies this year - Shawn & Ryan.)

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE NEW MR. & MRS. BALASSONE!!!

3 DAYS OF SUMMER

Only 3 days left!  And so many fun memories!  One of which is

Dad's Birthday Weekend

We had a LOT of friends down to celebrate with us,
it was GREAT!
We went to the beach,
ate a lot,
drank even more,
went out in Morehead City,
played cards,
drank peach daquiris,
and, interestingly, took the kayak out in the ocean:
It was an awesome birthday.

7 Days of Summer

Today's favorite summer memory is of my trip to Connecticut in June.

Mom & I went "home" to Canaan for 5 days.
We were there to celebrate Grandpa Butch's birthday!
We went to Dennis Hill for a picnic - I got to run around and be the center of attention, as I so clearly am in this photo ;~)  Sean was there too, but he took the pictures!

We also had lots of great visit time with Mom's Margaritas!
and I got to play with Mr. Finn =)

I also experienced my first freshwater swimming at Umpachene Falls with Vicki & Neeva
Although I don't have any pictures, I spent lots of time with Grandpa Jay.  And, we had family
dinner with all Mom's sisters =)  It was a lovely visit to kick off the official start of summer!

8 Days of Summer

My favorite summer memory for the 8th to last day of the season is:

Sunrise & Sunset

Mom & I saw a lot of GREAT sunrises on the beach this summer.
Sunrise is my favorite, because there usually aren't too many other people up yet so I get to run around without a leash, chasing fish and birds like the crazy Huntress I am.

We also saw some great sunsets on the bay.
Fourth of July, we sat on the dock in Aunt Becky's neighborhood

We also went to the Emerald Wood's Park dock
with Grandma Jo, Aunt Cara, and Ginny & Sean

and again with Vicki, Brianna, Collin, Puka & Neeva

I know the sun will continue to rise and set throughout the fall and winter, but as the temperatures cool and the days shorten, I'm sure I'll be watching them less... so farewell summer sunrise & sunset!

10 Days of Summer

Sadly, there are only 10 days of summer left.
It's been such a GREAT summer,
I'm sad to see it go!

For the next 10 days,
in no particular order,
I am going to share some of my favorite memories from Summer 2010:

Memorial Day Weekend

I had a HOUSEFUL
of friends to play with!

Shawn & Ryan came Thursday from MAINE,

Becky & Eddie arrived in the wee morning hours of Friday from D.C.,

and Becky, Colin, and Finn arrived Friday night, driving from CT!

I got to go to the beach a lot, learn about what bros love, us ladies killed the guys in flip cup, we got dressed up for a cocktail party, and it was my first time ever ON A BOAT:
Unfortunately, none of us had any idea what we were doing Captaining the boat, we drank a LOT of beer and sweet tea vodka, and the ocean was way too choppy for a pontoon boat... Luckily, we all made it home in one piece (well, we did lose my new leash).

We also celebrated Shawn's birthday,

got fingerblasted,

experienced Ryan's awesome lemonade,
and I got to play (gently) with Mr. Finn!

I hope they all come back next summer!

Biking May be Hazardous to your Health

Mom & Seanna went out to the E.Club Saturday night
they rode their bikes.
I have learned several things from their experience:

(1) The E.Club is in fact a place for Cougars,
and my Mom & Seanna are some of them.

(2) Paddy's Pub is lame.  Seriously.  Don't go there (even if you do love it's Always Sunny and meet new 22 year old friends who also love It's Always Sunny and you all think it's a good idea to go check out the Paddy's Pub in Emerald Isle... it's not.)
This is how crowded it was at 1:30am:

note that there is NOONE else in the place and the band that was allegedly playing has already packed up for the night.

(3) Biking while intoxicated is HARD and probably DANGEROUS.
Luckily, they made it home to me safely, but I hear Seanna kept veering off the bike path and Mom almost fell over several times.
plus, they looked ridiculous riding their bikes in dresses.

SEANNA IS HERE!

And i want to LICK HER TO DEATH!
almost literally.
she is unfortunately allergic to me.
and i am not allowed to lick her,
or jump on her bed,
like I normally do to guests.

She's staying until thursday,
I'm so excited!!

They did leave me and go out Saturday night

BUT,
they shared some PICTURES:

Here's one of me and the ladies,
before they went out:
