CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Yay for the newlyweds - Congratulations are in order!

First, to Sarah & Tom Coin, married on September 18!
Mom flew up to Philly for the weekend
Dad couldn't go, so she had two sexy dates named Seanna & Katie

The reception was in Atlantic City, at One Atlantic:

She had a FABULOUS time
(too much fun, in fact - they went out after the wedding and stayed out way too late... she was exhausted and didn't even want to play with me when she got home Sunday night!!)

Also a big Congrats to Bridgit & Peter, married September 25!

Mom & Dad went to New Orleans for a long weekend of celebrating.
They went to bachelor/bachelorette parties Thursday,
a Welcome/Rehearsal Dinner on Friday,
and the wedding at the ZOO on Saturday!
(I think I should have been able to go if there were other animals there, not fair)

They also did a lot of sightseeing and EATING around New Orleans!
Their favorite was riding the cable car down St. Charles Street,

and walking around the French Quarter -
there are lots of local artists selling their
work along Jackson Square.
Mom & Dad bought a Dancing Cathedral
I'm not allowed to eat it, so I don't really care...

I also need to congratulate Ryan & Kara!
They're getting married this Saturday, October 2, but Mom & Dad can't go =(
So we're sending best wishes from Emerald Isle!!

LAST DAY OF SUMMER!

I can't believe it!
Adios, verano!

On the last day of summer, I'd like to share with you my memories of the super fun week we had during
Vicki, Collin, Neeva, Puka and Brianna's Visit!

We spent a lot of time ON THE BOAT!

We saw DOLPHINS on the Intercoastal Waterway, went to Shakleford Banks and saw the wild ponies, and visited the lighthouse at Cape Lookout

We dressed up like PIRATES,

We drank a LOT of wine and ate a LOT of food
We went to the beach
and had lots of playtime for puppies!  It was fabulous!

I hope next summer brings just as many fun memories =)

2 DAYS OF SUMMER

It sure still feels like summer this week... hard to think after tomorrow it will be fall!  Today's memory is all the fun stuff we did outside this summer!

Summer Activities

Back in July, Mom, Dad and I went hiking
and camped overnight
on the Neusiok Trail.
It was fun!
Well, minus the chiggers
and the ticks
and the oppressive heat.

I think we'll plan fall or spring trips from now on.

Dad did a lot of SURFING this summer.
i LOVE to go and watch with Mom
Ginny & Sean surfed too when they were here.
Another of my FAVORITE summer activities was
BOATING!

Here's me & my friend Puka, out on the BROOK SEA with Vicki & Collin.
Neeva isn't a very good swimmer, she had to wear a life jacket:
I wish we could get a boat!

Mom & Dad also did some kayaking this summer, but I wasn't allowed to go.

So long fun summer outdoor activities!

3 DAYS OF SUMMER

Only 3 days left!  And so many fun memories!  One of which is

Dad's Birthday Weekend

We had a LOT of friends down to celebrate with us,
it was GREAT!
We went to the beach,
ate a lot,
drank even more,
went out in Morehead City,
played cards,
drank peach daquiris,
and, interestingly, took the kayak out in the ocean:
It was an awesome birthday.

4 Days of Summer

YAY for all the FAMILY who came to visit this summer!

Gramma Jo was here for a day, helping prepare for Christmas in July,
she left to go volunteer on the Appalachian Trail,
but came BACK to stay for a while!
Aunt Cara came too,
then Ginny & Sean!

What a fun impromptu family vacation!

5 Days of Summer

This summer, Mom had one of her greatest theme party ideas ever - Christmas in July!
(aren't I a cute reindeer?)
We set up a full-sized Christmas tree in the living room,
hung stockings,
strung Christmas lights outside,
played Christmas carols non-stop,
baked GINGERBREAD men & women,
drank Holiday Sangria & Eggnog,
and exchanged presents under the tree!

We might need to do it again next summer =)

6 Days of Summer

6 Days to go, and I'm remembering all the fun puppy playmates I had this summer!

Mom and I walked with Liss & Shirley on the beach a lot of mornings (have I mentioned that is my FAVORITE thing to do, EVER?)

I got to play with Bradley & Riggins at Gramma's house in Connecticut when I was there in June, and saw my friend Neeva too

Then, friend Jackson stayed with me for a while.

In August, I had a houseful of puppies to play with!  First, my friend Neeva and my new role model Puka came to stay for a Week!

(something is wrong with my photo uploader - BOO - I'll have to share more pictures of Puka Dog & Neevers later, stay tuned...)

Then, Cloey joined us too!

Such fun and so many friends, new and old!

7 Days of Summer

Today's favorite summer memory is of my trip to Connecticut in June.

Mom & I went "home" to Canaan for 5 days.
We were there to celebrate Grandpa Butch's birthday!
We went to Dennis Hill for a picnic - I got to run around and be the center of attention, as I so clearly am in this photo ;~)  Sean was there too, but he took the pictures!

We also had lots of great visit time with Mom's Margaritas!
and I got to play with Mr. Finn =)

I also experienced my first freshwater swimming at Umpachene Falls with Vicki & Neeva
Although I don't have any pictures, I spent lots of time with Grandpa Jay.  And, we had family
dinner with all Mom's sisters =)  It was a lovely visit to kick off the official start of summer!

8 Days of Summer

My favorite summer memory for the 8th to last day of the season is:

Sunrise & Sunset

Mom & I saw a lot of GREAT sunrises on the beach this summer.
Sunrise is my favorite, because there usually aren't too many other people up yet so I get to run around without a leash, chasing fish and birds like the crazy Huntress I am.

We also saw some great sunsets on the bay.
Fourth of July, we sat on the dock in Aunt Becky's neighborhood

We also went to the Emerald Wood's Park dock
with Grandma Jo, Aunt Cara, and Ginny & Sean

and again with Vicki, Brianna, Collin, Puka & Neeva

I know the sun will continue to rise and set throughout the fall and winter, but as the temperatures cool and the days shorten, I'm sure I'll be watching them less... so farewell summer sunrise & sunset!

9 Days of Summer

Today, with 9 days left of summer, I remember fondly the fun I had on

Father's Day

I got to spend father's day with my Dad & my 2 Grandad's this year!
I went to Grandpa Nelson's house in northern NJ with Mom & Dad.
Grandpa Butch came down from Connecticut to hang out too.

The guys all played Dominos,

And I stuck close to Grandpa Butch, since neither of us speak Spanish very well.

There was a lot of food,

a LOT of drinking,

some manly competition,

3 "Peas in a Pod" who stayed up drinking until 4:45 AM,

and of course, 1 cute puppy!

It was a great time had by all!
And, we were all together to cheers to Mom & Dad's 1 year anniversary

10 Days of Summer

Sadly, there are only 10 days of summer left.
It's been such a GREAT summer,
I'm sad to see it go!

For the next 10 days,
in no particular order,
I am going to share some of my favorite memories from Summer 2010:

Memorial Day Weekend

I had a HOUSEFUL
of friends to play with!

Shawn & Ryan came Thursday from MAINE,

Becky & Eddie arrived in the wee morning hours of Friday from D.C.,

and Becky, Colin, and Finn arrived Friday night, driving from CT!

I got to go to the beach a lot, learn about what bros love, us ladies killed the guys in flip cup, we got dressed up for a cocktail party, and it was my first time ever ON A BOAT:
Unfortunately, none of us had any idea what we were doing Captaining the boat, we drank a LOT of beer and sweet tea vodka, and the ocean was way too choppy for a pontoon boat... Luckily, we all made it home in one piece (well, we did lose my new leash).

We also celebrated Shawn's birthday,

got fingerblasted,

experienced Ryan's awesome lemonade,
and I got to play (gently) with Mr. Finn!

I hope they all come back next summer!

When Life Hands You Grapes, Make Jelly

there are vines growing all over the trees in my front yard.
Mom and I recently discovered that they are
GRAPE VINES.
so, because we cannot possibly let anything go to waste,
today we drafted Dad's assistance and picked a whole bunch.

Then, we squeezed them to make 3 cups of
GRAPE JUICE,
a much more tedious process than we anticipated,
and used it for what will hopefully be delicious
GRAPE JELLY.

the jars are currently on the counter,
"setting."
I'll let you know in 22 hours if they're any good!
